Thanks to those who got in touch. I have recently bought an 18 y.o. 14.2 part bred Arab mare that I found on Horseabout. My good land will go to waste a bit as she is a laminitic, but apart from that she seems ideal. Lets hope we have many years of happy hacking ahead before she enjoys her retirement here with us.

Hi, I'm looking for a 14.2 - 15.2 happy hacker, 10 - 20+ y.o.. It will be ridden on narrow country roads so must be good in traffic (especially farm type traffic) and be a sweetheart. Connemara or x preferred but its more about the temperament than anything else - will be a pampered pet! I am an experienced owner but don't have that much time to ride these days as I have a young family so need something that is happy to be hacked as and when, and safe as houses around dogs, kids, etc. I have plenty of good land and stables, and Pablo the goat for company, so a 5* home is guaranteed for your steed if he/she fits the bill.

Sorry but 15.2 really is my upper limit - I'm 5'3" and have a bit of a dodgy ankle so 15.2 is the tallest I can manage to comfortably mount and dismount (even thats pushing it a bit to be honest). Thanks for getting in touch though.
